Thomas J. Scannell joined Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio, in 2004, as a Partner and Chair of the Litigation Department. Before joining the firm he was associated with Bowditch & Dewey, where he served as a Partner in their litigation practice area.

Tom has practiced law over 17 years. His intuitive intellect and extensive background in litigation position him to lead FA&E’s growing litigation practice. He specializes in all aspects of civil trial practice before state and federal courts of Massachusetts, with an emphasis on commercial, employment and construction disputes, landlord and tenant issues, as well as medical malpractice defense. Tom is a staunch advocate who focuses on delivering successful results. He also manages arbitrations and mediations for FA&E clients and serves as a neutral mediator.

Tom earned a Bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the College of the Holy Cross, and he is also a magna cum laude graduate of Suffolk University Law School. While at Suffolk, Tom was Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review. Following school, he served as Law Clerk, U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.

He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and of the Worcester County Bar Association.

Tom's community outreach includes service to the March of Dimes. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Greater Worcester Habitat for Humanity. He is a conciliator for the Worcester County Superior and District Courts and he has coached in various youth sports leagues.
